 Long
time ago, ships entered the creek up to Ponte-do-Porto's harbour, where
nowadays there are only some small boats.
Creek and river gently fuse their waters in a
nice and calm site chosen by many fishermen to practice their favourite
sport: there is a footpath of several kilometres along the river Grande
with old water mills converted in charming lunchrooms.
Ponte-do-Porto's strategic location is ideal
for excursions to the main tourist centers of Camelle,
Camarinas, Vimianzo,
Traba, Laxe, Muxia...
It is recommended as well to go shopping in Ponte-do-Porto's famous
fair, organized every month's second and last Sunday.

Next
to Ponte-do-Porto is the small parish of Cereixo, known by its two
important architectural monuments:
