 The
IV International Semiotic Latinamerican Federation Congress is dedicated
to think about the fascinating challenge of what is now inmenent, the End
of the Millennium. This will be
celebrated in Galicia (Spain) between the 27th of September and the 2nd of October 1999. Due to the proximity of such an historical and
chronological event, as is considered the end of the 20th Century and the
second christianity millennium; we intend to rouse an extensive knowledge
of significance and repercussions at this particular moment: an inflection
on the history of human culture, changes of ethical and aesthetic thinking,
such as possible changes in human and scientific paradigms, going
through the modern era to enter the postmodernity,
To tackle these subjects, specialists from Europe and America have been called together. University lecturers, investigators in different
semiotic areas, intellectuals and writers have been asked to give their
version on masterpieces or thematic subjects which will allow us to think
about the matter:
MILLENNIUM - APOCALYPSE - MULTICULTURALISM
- DIGITAL AGE AND COMMUNICATION - UTOPIAN UKRAINIAN EXILES - LITERARY CRISIS
- END OF THE NOVEL - AFTER MODERNITY: THEORY CRISIS.
